Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a complementary assessment approach that uses manual muscle testing as one of several tools to help explore how the body may be responding to physical, chemical, or emotional stressors. It is based on the concept that changes in muscle response may reflect how different systems in the body are functioning.

Applied Kinesiology does not diagnose medical conditions and is not considered an evidence-based diagnostic method. Instead, it may be used as an adjunct to standard clinical assessment, alongside established examination methods and appropriate medical care.

How Applied Kinesiology Is Used

Some practitioners use Applied Kinesiology as an additional way to gather information that may help guide supportive, non-invasive strategies. It is never used in isolation to make clinical decisions and does not replace thorough history-taking, physical examination, imaging, or laboratory testing when these are indicated.

Important Information

  • Applied Kinesiology is considered a complementary approach, not an evidence-based diagnostic tool

  • It does not diagnose, treat, or cure disease

  • Findings may be subjective and responses can vary

  • Any care decisions are based on a full clinical assessment, not muscle testing alone

  • Referrals for medical or allied health care are made whenever appropriate

Our priority is transparency, safety, and informed choice. Complementary approaches are discussed openly so individuals can decide whether they align with their preferences and goals.
